MINDSTORMS NXT freefall ride (S.A.F.A)

You might remember my freefall ride I talked about a long time ago. I have made a video using the old photos and video's. It is already on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ty9leziU3Vc (or watch here below). //note: The video on youtube is better quality I built this contraption some time ago, and personally, I don't think it is constructed *that* good, however it *is* an interesting project... I compiled the video from old recordings and photos, the videos are poor quality and incomplete... But it DID work. Unfortunatly I can't shoot new footage, because the model doesn't exist anymore... More information om how everything works (and lot's of HQ photo's) on NXTlog! http://mindstorms.lego.com/en-us/Community/NXTLog/DisplayProject.aspx?id=99ca3747-512c-4c11-b79f-6a54489367f7 enjoy! LEGO NXT Pinball Machine

Big NXT project made in Canada inspired by one of The NXT Step contributor's project dating back in the RCX time... The Lego NXT Pinball machine, built by Mark Gryn of the School of Computer Science , University of Windsor and Michael, an 11th grade student who is participating in a co-op program at the University of Windsor is pretty impressive creation.  It uses 6 NXT's, 9 touch sensors, 10 light sensors and 4 motors along with over 8000 LEGO bricks! Read the full story here , where you can download instructions, NXT-G program and learn among other things that, (and I quote) "The inspiration for this Lego NXT Pinball machine came from a machine built by Gerrit Bronsveld & Martijn Boogaarts.  Their machine was built back in 2005 using the old version of the Lego robots known as RCX."  If you want to know more on the project that inspired this LEGO Mindstorms pinball machine be sure to review the article on PinballNews.com

Me in a nutshell: Not LEGO related: I'm fourteen years old. I live in a rather sleepy town named "Heist-op-den-Berg", Antwerp, Belgium. My native language is dutch. besides LEGO I love everything related to science, technique, technology, electronics, robotics,... I got bit by the electrics bug when I got an electronics play-kit for my 8th birthday. My other passion is music. I play the drums for 6 years now. My favourite styles include: Jazz, Funk, Latin, and other stuff. LEGO related: Like a lot of other peoples, I have been playing with LEGO's since I was *very* young. My older brothers had an immense stack of old style, classic LEGO. In fact, if it weren't for my brothers, I don't think I would have got into LEGO TECHNIC. When I was about six, I watched how my brother amazi...
