This was the front page story of our local newspaper on Saturday...
"WHEN Yaya Lu went to a robotics competition a few months ago, she was much smaller than everyone else in the room - but size certainly didn't matter.
"She was the only primary school student at the Australian RoboCup Championships and, at just 12 years old, she beat four high school teams.
"Now, Yaya has won a Google scholarship to travel to China and is set to represent Australia in the World RoboCup Junior International competition there next month."
You can read the full article on the Mercury's web site.
I have a minor quibble with the article... Although Yaya may well have been the only primary school student in the Premier Rescue challenge, there were plenty of primary school students in other challenges (e.g. the Junior Dance challenge).
